Common Issues

OCR says "Failed" on my image

Common causes:

  • • Image too blurry or dark (OCR can't read text)
  • • File corrupted or unsupported format
  • • Image too large (>10MB)
  • • Network timeout (slow connection)

Solutions:

  • 1. Retake photo with better lighting and focus
  • 2. Reduce image file size (compress or resize)
  • 3. Try uploading a PDF instead of image
  • 4. Remove the failed file and continue with others
AI extracted wrong client name or amount

Why this happens:

Document has ambiguous information (e.g., multiple company names mentioned), or OCR misread a character.

Solution:

Add context in the notes field: "Client: Acme Corp, Amount: $5,000, worked 20 hours". AI prioritizes your instructions over document content.

"Quota exceeded" error when generating invoice

What this means:

You've used all 5 free invoices for this month. Your quota resets on the 1st of next month.

Solutions:

  • 1. Wait until next month (quota resets automatically)
  • 2. Check quota remaining in footer (shows "X/5 free invoices used")
  • 3. Paid tiers coming soon for higher volume users
File upload stuck at 0% or times out

Common causes:

  • • File too large (>10MB)
  • • Slow internet connection
  • • Browser blocking upload (privacy extensions)

Solutions:

  • 1. Check file size (right-click → Properties/Get Info)
  • 2. Compress PDF or resize image
  • 3. Try different browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox)
  • 4. Disable ad blockers temporarily
Invoice PDF preview doesn't load

The PDF was generated successfully but preview iframe isn't loading.

Solution:

Click "Download Invoice" button—the PDF file will save to your computer. The download works even if preview doesn't load. This is a known UI issue (not a PDF generation issue).
